Pool Inspections in the Eastern Suburbs

Sydney's Eastern Suburbs are a mix of apartments, terraces and premium homes, with around 9,700 backyard pools across the area. While overall pool density is lower than the Hills or the Shire, the prestige pockets tell a different story - Vaucluse and Dover Heights have some of the highest pool densities in Sydney, on premium properties where a safe, compliant pool is a priority.

Why it matters

Why Eastern Suburbs pools need a compliance check.

Whether it's a Bondi terrace or a Vaucluse home, every residential pool must meet the NSW Swimming Pools Act 1992 and AS 1926.1-2012 barrier standard, with a current compliance certificate required before selling or leasing. PoolPro Inspectors is a registered private certifier servicing the entire Eastern Suburbs.

FAQ

Eastern Suburbs pool inspection FAQs.

Which council covers Eastern Suburbs?

Eastern Suburbs is administered by Waverley, Woollahra and Randwick councils. We inspect to the same NSW standard (Swimming Pools Act 1992 & AS 1926.1-2012) regardless of council, so the process is identical across the region.

How long does a pool inspection take?

Most inspections take 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the size and layout of your pool barrier.

How much does it cost?

A flat $250 + GST for a Eastern Suburbs pool barrier inspection and compliance certificate. You can book and pay online.

Do I need a certificate to sell or lease my property?

Yes. Under the Swimming Pools Act 1992 a valid certificate of compliance (or non-compliance) must be attached to a contract of sale or provided before a lease begins. See our compliance guide for detail.

What if my pool doesn't pass?

You receive a written list of exactly what needs rectifying and a certificate of non-compliance. You then have time to fix the issues and book a re-inspection.
